Jávea nightlife isn't Benidorm. And honestly? That's exactly why people fall in love with it. After ten years living here, I can tell you that evenings in Jávea are about long, lazy dinners that drift into midnight, cold Estrella Damms on a terrace with the sea breeze coming in, spontaneous flamenco you stumble across in the old town square, and that particular golden hour light that makes everyone look like they're in a holiday film. This is a town where the evening IS the entertainment — and in June, when the days are long and warm but the August madness hasn't yet arrived, it's at its absolute best.
Whether you're after a civilised sunset cocktail, a proper Spanish late-night dinner, or somewhere to actually dance until 3am, here's your complete guide to Jávea after dark.
The Three Zones: Where to Go and When
Jávea has three distinct areas, and each has a completely different evening vibe. Understanding this is key to getting the most out of your nights here.

Find rentals →The Old Town (Poble Antic / Casco Histórico) is where you want to be for the first part of your evening. Between about 7pm and 10pm, the narrow stone streets around the 16th-century church of San Bartolomé fill up with people doing the paseo — the traditional Spanish evening stroll. Grab a table at La Bohème on Carrer Circumval·lació for a glass of local Alicante wine and watch the world go by. For something more upbeat, Bar Cansalimon on Carrer Major is a local favourite that's been around for years — tight space, great vermouth, completely genuine atmosphere. No tourist menu in sight.
The Port (El Puerto) kicks into life around 9pm and stays buzzing until late. This is the most social part of Jávea, with dozens of bars and restaurants lining the harbour and the beach promenade. Café del Mar (not the Ibiza chain — this is Jávea's own version) right on the waterfront is perfect for watching the fishing boats come in while you sip a gin tonic. For cocktails with a view, Amárica Bar has one of the best terraces at the port and makes a proper Aperol Spritz. If you want to get your feet in the sand while you drink, head down to Chiringuito La Marina on Playa del Arenal — it's open until midnight in summer and the vibe is exactly what you came to Spain for.
Arenal Beach is the late-night centre of gravity in Jávea. By midnight in June, the strip along Avinguda de la Llibertat is lively without being overwhelming. Discoteca Elca is the main nightclub — it's been here forever and still pulls a good mixed crowd in summer. Don't show up before 1am though, or you'll be dancing alone. For something more relaxed but still social and open late, Bar Soul attracts a slightly older crowd (30s and 40s) and regularly has live music on weekends.
Sunset Spots You Absolutely Cannot Miss
Before any of the bar-hopping begins, you need a proper sunset. In June, the sun doesn't set until around 9:30pm, which means you can have dinner and still catch the last light — one of the genuine luxuries of Mediterranean summer.
The single best sunset viewpoint in Jávea is the Cap de Sant Antoni lighthouse, a short drive or a manageable uphill walk from the port. Get there about 45 minutes before sunset, find a rock, and watch the Cap de la Nau headland turn every shade of orange and pink. Take a bottle of cava. You'll thank me.
For a more social sunset, the terrace of Restaurant La Siesta up in the Montgó hills has panoramic views over the whole bay — book ahead in June because it fills up fast. The local secret is the roof of the old Ayuntamiento (town hall) carpark on the edge of the old town, which gives you a completely unobstructed view west across the orange groves and is completely free.
Late Dinner: The Most Important Tip
If there's one mistake I see tourists making constantly in Jávea, it's turning up to a restaurant at 7pm and wondering why it feels empty and slightly sad. Spanish dinner time is real, and in summer it's even later — locals don't typically eat until 9:30pm or even 10pm. Lean into it.
La Perla del Mediterráneo at the port is worth booking two or three days ahead in June — it's right on the water and the rice dishes are genuinely exceptional. El Rodat (slightly more upscale, set back from the port) is a special-occasion splurge that absolutely delivers. For something more casual but brilliant, Comidas Mar y Monte in the old town does a €15 menú del día at lunch that turns into a proper evening à la carte service — the dorada a la sal (sea bream baked in salt) is one of the best things I've eaten in a decade of living here.
Practical Notes for June Evenings
June evenings in Jávea are warm but not oppressive — expect temperatures between 22°C and 26°C after dark, which is shorts-and-a-light-layer weather. The real heat arrives in July and August, so this is genuinely the sweet spot.
Parking at the port gets tricky after 9pm in June — the free car park on Calle Partida Les Sorts fills up fast. If you're staying at an Arenal or port-area holiday rental in Jávea, you can almost certainly walk to everything on this list. That's one of the big advantages of choosing the right location when you book.
Speak of which — if you haven't sorted your accommodation yet, browse our Jávea properties directly. Booking direct with JV Properties saves you up to 18% compared to what you'd pay through Airbnb or Booking.com, and you get genuine local knowledge about which properties are best placed for evening access.
The Honest Verdict
Jávea after dark rewards people who embrace the local rhythm rather than fighting it. Eat late, drink slowly, walk the old town, find a terrace you like and stay a while. On a warm June night with the scent of jasmine in the air and the lights of the port reflecting on the water, you really won't want to be anywhere else.
The nightlife here isn't flashy. It isn't meant to be. It's warm, social, unhurried, and completely, gloriously Spanish — and in June, before the peak-summer crowds arrive, it's yours to enjoy at its most relaxed and real.
