If you're planning a holiday in Jávea in June, you've picked one of the best months on the entire Costa Blanca. I've been living here for ten years, and June is genuinely my favourite time of year — warm enough to swim, quiet enough to find a sunbed, and the whole town feels electric with the arrival of summer. But there's a lot to know before you arrive. This guide covers everything: what the weather's actually like, which beaches are worth it, where the locals eat in June, and why booking your Jávea vacation rental direct could save you a serious chunk of money.
What's the Weather Like in Jávea in June?
Expect sunny skies and reliable warmth. Average daytime temperatures in June sit between 24°C and 29°C, with sea temperatures reaching a very swimmable 22–24°C by mid-month. Rain is rare — we're talking maybe three or four grey days across the whole month — and evenings are genuinely pleasant, usually around 18–20°C. You won't need a jacket for dinner, but a light layer is handy after midnight.
One thing worth knowing: Jávea sits in a microclimate created by the Montgó massif and Cap de Sant Antoni, which shields the bay from strong north winds. This means Jávea consistently runs 2–3°C warmer than Dénia, just 15 minutes up the road, and the sea here tends to be calmer too. If you've had windy holidays on other parts of the Costa Blanca, Jávea in June will feel like a revelation.

Find rentals →The Beaches in June: Which One Should You Choose?
Jávea has three very different beaches, and the right one depends on what you want.
Playa del Arenal is the main sandy beach, lined with chiringuitos and restaurants. In June it's busy but not unbearable — you can still get a spot before 10am without stress. The water here is shallow and calm, making it brilliant for families. On summer evenings, the Arenal promenade is where everyone gravitates for ice cream and aperitivos.
La Granadella is arguably the most beautiful cove on the Costa Blanca. Small, crystal clear, dramatic cliffs. In July and August the queue of cars stretches back up the hill for 45 minutes. In June? Go before 10am or after 5pm and you'll find parking fine. The snorkelling around the rocks here is genuinely world-class.
Playa de la Grava is the pebble beach in the old port area, and honestly it's criminally underrated. No sand in your shoes, excellent seafood restaurants metres from the waterfront, and a more local crowd. I come here when I want to read a book in peace.

What's On in Jávea in June 2026
June is never quiet in Jávea. A few highlights:
Hogueras de San Juan (23–24 June) — the Midsummer bonfires. This is one of the most spectacular festivals on the Costa Blanca and it's a big deal in Jávea. Effigies are built in the streets, there's live music, dancing, and at midnight on the 23rd everything gets set on fire. It sounds dramatic because it is. Book your accommodation early if you want to be here for this — availability disappears fast.
Sailing races off Cap de Sant Antoni — June kicks off the sailing season and weekend regattas are a regular sight from the port area. Watching from the terrace of any restaurant on the Grava promenade is free and excellent.
Fresh local produce — June is prime season for local cherries, apricots, and the first tomatoes from the Jávea huerta. The Saturday morning market in the old town (Pueblo) is excellent this time of year and worth the walk.
Where to Eat in Jávea in June
I've covered this in more detail in our Jávea restaurant guide, but for June specifically a few tips:
La Bohème on the Arenal is probably the most reliably good restaurant in town — excellent rice dishes, book a table for sunset. La Gamba de Oro in Benitachell (five minutes by car) does the best arroz a banda on this stretch of coast. For something more casual, Chiringuito El Trampoli on the Arenal beach serves cold beer and decent bocadillos right on the sand.
In June you can still often walk into restaurants without reservations midweek. By mid-July that changes completely — book everything in advance.
Getting Around Jávea in June
Jávea is a sprawling municipality. The old town (Pueblo), the port (Puerto/Grava), and the beach (Arenal) are three distinct areas connected by a 10-minute drive or a 45-minute coastal walk. In June, parking is still manageable — the large free car parks near the Arenal fill up by 11am on weekends but there's usually space in the streets behind. By July, a car is essential. In June, the local bus service (La Marina Bus) runs frequently enough to connect the main areas if you don't have a car.
How Much Does a Week in Jávea Cost in June?
June is shoulder season transitioning into high season, so you'll pay more than April but less than August. A decent holiday apartment in Jávea for a week in June typically ranges from €900–€1,800 for a two-bedroom place, depending on location and quality. Villas with pools start from around €1,500/week and go much higher.
One thing I always tell people: book direct with the property owner or a local agency like JV Properties rather than going through Airbnb or Booking.com. You'll typically save 15–18% because you're not paying platform fees — and that's real money. On a €1,400 rental, that's potentially €200+ back in your pocket for dinners, boat trips, or market shopping.

Is Jávea Crowded in June?
Honestly, June is the sweet spot. The Spanish school holidays don't start until late June, and most northern Europeans arrive in July. The first two weeks of June feel almost like an extension of spring — warm, golden, and pleasantly quiet. The last week ramps up around the San Juan festival. If crowds bother you and you want guaranteed peace, aim for early to mid-June. If you want atmosphere and the sense that summer has truly arrived, late June delivers.
