Before diving in, here's something that confuses a lot of visitors: Dénia has two completely different types of coastline.

Find rentals →North coast (Las Marinas): Long, flat, sandy beaches stretching several kilometres towards Oliva. These are classic Mediterranean holiday beaches — calm, family-friendly, good infrastructure with chiringuitos (beach bars) and sunbed hire. Great for kids.
South coast (Las Rotas): Rocky, wild, crystal-clear water. Smaller coves tucked into the base of the Montgó massif. Snorkelling paradise. Fewer crowds, less infrastructure, more character. The water here is a shade of blue that makes first-timers reach for their phone cameras.
Both coastlines are within easy cycling or driving distance from the town centre. I'll cover each beach individually so you can plan your week.

Practical Beach Tips for September 2026
September is, without question, my favourite month to use Dénia's beaches. The crowds from August have gone, water temperatures are still in the mid-to-high 20s, and the afternoon light is golden and long. Parking is no longer a nightmare. Restaurant tables are actually available.
Parking: Free parking opens up significantly in September. Las Marinas has roadside parking. Las Rotas has a small paid car park near the seafood restaurants.
Sunbeds: Most chiringuitos still operate through mid-October. Expect to pay around €8–12 per sunbed per day. Many areas you can simply lay your towel on the rocks or sand for free.
Blue Flag status: Several of Dénia's beaches hold Blue Flag certification — water quality is consistently tested and excellent.
Nudism: There's a naturist section on Les Deveses. Respectfully well-signposted.
