Benidorm nightlife has a reputation that precedes it — and honestly, after ten years living on the Costa Blanca, I've learned that reputation is both earned and completely misunderstood. Yes, the strip can get rowdy. Yes, there are karaoke bars pumping out Bon Jovi at 2am. But there's also a genuinely diverse night scene here that caters to couples, families, older travellers, and anyone who wants more than a bucket of sangria on the street.
This is my honest, no-fluff guide to going out in Benidorm in June 2026 — when the nights are warm, the terraces are packed, and the city is absolutely at its energetic best.
The Two Worlds of Benidorm After Dark
Benidorm's nightlife splits neatly into two zones, and knowing which one you want saves a lot of walking (and regret).

Find rentals →The English Quarter (Levante beach side) is exactly what you've seen on the TV show — wall-to-wall British pubs, tribute acts, karaoke, and cocktail buckets. Streets like Calle Gerona and the area around Avenida del Mediterráneo are the epicentre. If you want to laugh, sing badly, and not worry about offending anyone, this is genuinely fun. I've had brilliant nights here. Just go in knowing what it is.
The Old Town (Casco Antiguo) and Rincon de Loix are a completely different story. The Old Town, perched on the headland between the two beaches, has bars with proper Spanish character — places like Bar El Tormo and the terrace bars on Plaza del Castillo where you can watch the sunset with a cold Estrella and feel like you're in actual Spain. Rincon de Loix, meanwhile, is where you'll find Benidorm's more grown-up clubs and live music venues.
Best Bars in Benidorm
Penélope Beach Club — right on Levante beach, this is the closest Benidorm gets to Ibiza-style beach clubbing. Arrive before 11pm in June to grab a decent spot. The sunset drinks sessions here are genuinely special.
The Hairy Dog — yes, it's a British pub, but it's one of the better ones. Good live music most nights, friendly staff, and they actually pour a proper pint. Popular with a 30-50 crowd rather than the stag-do brigade.
Café del Mar Benidorm (Mirador del Castillo area) — not affiliated with the famous Ibiza original, but the terrace bars along the castle viewpoint are some of the most atmospheric spots in the whole city after dark. Grab a gin and tonic and watch the lights of both beaches stretch out below you. Genuinely magical on a warm June evening.
Bar Restaurante Altamira — tucked into the Old Town, this is where Spanish families and long-term residents drink. Unpretentious, cheap, great local vermut.
Live Shows: The Best Entertainment in Benidorm
This is where Benidorm genuinely surprises people. The quality of live entertainment here rivals what you'd find in big cities.
Benidorm Palace is the headline act — an enormous dinner-show theatre on the edge of town that has been running spectacular revues since 1977. Think Vegas-style production values: acrobats, dancers, live singers, costume changes every ten minutes. It's expensive (around €60-80 per person including dinner) but it's a proper occasion. Book well ahead in June — it sells out regularly.
Paramount Comedy Club on Avenida de la Comunitat Valenciana hosts stand-up comedians most weekends, predominantly English-language but occasionally bilingual nights. A great option if you want laughs without the noise of the strip.
KU Club / Penélope Club in Rincon de Loix is the biggest dedicated nightclub in town — open until 6am, with international DJs in peak season. This is proper clubbing, not a pub with a dancefloor.
Fancy Dress and Tribute Nights: if you want the full Benidorm experience, at least one night doing a tribute act on the strip is almost compulsory. The Abba, Queen, and Michael Jackson tributes are reliably good. Terrible and wonderful in equal measure.
Benidorm Nightlife in June: What to Expect
June is the sweet spot. The weather is perfect for terrace drinking (25-28°C in the evenings, no rain), the crowds are busy but not suffocating like August, and bars are running their full programmes. The strip doesn't really get going until midnight — Spanish time rules here — so don't show up at 9pm expecting atmosphere. Pre-drink on your apartment terrace, eat late, and head out around 11pm.
Drinks prices: expect €4-6 for a beer in a regular bar, €8-12 for cocktails in beachfront venues. The Old Town is noticeably cheaper than the strip.
Practical Tips for a Good Night Out
- Wear comfortable shoes. Benidorm's Old Town has cobblestones that will destroy your feet in heels.
- Book Benidorm Palace and any dinner shows in advance — they fill up fast in June.
- Taxis are cheap and plentiful — the rank on Avenida de Europa is always active. Don't try to drive after a night out; parking is a nightmare anyway.
- The beach bars (chiringuitos) on Levante and Poniente are open until midnight in June and make perfect early-evening drinking spots before the later bars open up.
- Carry cash — plenty of smaller bars in the Old Town don't take cards.
Stay in the Middle of the Action
The best way to enjoy Benidorm's nightlife is to be walking distance from it all — no taxis home at 3am, no worrying about driving. A well-located apartment puts you right in the mix.
Browse our holiday rentals in Benidorm — we have apartments close to Levante beach, the Old Town, and quieter areas if you want the best of both worlds. Booking directly through JV Properties saves you up to 18% compared to Airbnb or Booking.com, with no platform fees and direct contact with the owner.
Benidorm at night is loud, brilliant, chaotic, and unlike anywhere else on the Costa Blanca. It's not for everyone — but if you're even a little curious, give it one proper night. You might be surprised.
