If you've been wondering whether Benidorm in June is worth it — let me save you the deliberation. After a decade living on the Costa Blanca, June is genuinely one of my favourite months here. The sun is fierce, the sea has finally warmed up, the crowds haven't quite hit August levels yet, and the whole town has a buzzy, optimistic energy that's hard to beat.
This guide covers everything you need to know: what the weather is actually like, which beaches to head to, what's on in June 2026, and how to make the most of your holiday without paying over the odds.

June in Benidorm is reliably excellent. Average daytime temperatures sit between 26°C and 30°C, with sea temperatures reaching a very swimmable 22–24°C by mid-month. You'll get around 10–11 hours of sunshine per day and almost zero chance of rain — June is one of the driest months on the Costa Blanca calendar.
The evenings are warm enough for dinner outside in a t-shirt, which is a genuine pleasure after a long winter back home. The wind can pick up occasionally along the seafront, especially around Levante Beach, but it's usually a blessing rather than a nuisance.
Compared to July and August, June is noticeably less intense. It's hot, but it's not the suffocating 38°C of peak summer. If you're coming with young children or you're not built for extreme heat, June is honestly the smarter choice.

The Best Beaches in Benidorm in June
Benidorm's two main beaches — Playa de Levante and Playa de Poniente — are both superb in June. The water is clear, the sand is well-maintained, and you can still get a sunlounger without turning it into a military operation.
Playa de Levante is the livelier of the two, backed by the high-rise skyline and close to the bars and restaurants of the town centre. It's a classic Benidorm experience and the vibe in June is electric — lots of young couples, families, and groups all mixing together.
Playa de Poniente is longer, slightly quieter, and faces west — meaning the sunsets here in June are absolutely stunning. I'd suggest spending at least one evening here just to watch the light change over the water.
For something quieter, Playa del Mal Pas is a small cove tucked just below the Old Town headland. It's shaded by afternoon and popular with locals — always a good sign. In June it's not yet overrun, so get there early and you'll feel like you've found a secret.
Also worth the short trip: Cala de Finestrat, about 3km south of the centre. A pretty little beach with calmer water and a more relaxed atmosphere. Drive or take a taxi — it's not easily walkable from central Benidorm.

Things to Do in Benidorm in June 2026
Water Parks & Theme Parks
June is the ideal month to visit Aqualandia (one of Europe's largest water parks) and Mundomar (sea life and animal shows). Why? Because they're fully open, the queues are significantly shorter than in July and August, and the water in the slides is actually pleasant rather than freezing cold.
Terra Mítica, the big theme park just outside town, is also in full swing by June — great for families and thrill-seekers alike.
Hiking the Sierra Helada
June mornings before 10am are perfect for walking the Sierra Helada Natural Park, the dramatic clifftop ridge that separates Benidorm from Alfàs del Pi. The views over Benidorm from up here are genuinely jaw-dropping — the Manhattan-of-the-Mediterranean thing really does make sense when you see it from above.
The main trail is around 9km and takes about 2.5 hours. Start early, bring water, and wear decent shoes. Reward yourself with a coffee in Rincón de Loix afterwards.
The Old Town at Sunset
I've written about Benidorm's Old Town separately, but in June it deserves a specific mention. The whitewashed streets, the blue-domed church of San Jaime, the viewpoint over both beaches — it all looks particularly beautiful in the golden hour light of early June evenings. Dinner up here at a terrace restaurant is one of those experiences that'll make you wonder why you've never done it before.
Day Trips from Benidorm
Guadalest — the medieval mountaintop village 25km inland — is a classic day trip that's genuinely worth it. In June the reservoir is still full and the mountain scenery is lush and green. Go on a weekday to avoid the worst of the coach tour crowds.
Altea is only 12km north and makes for a perfect half-day. The old town is more upmarket than Benidorm's, with art galleries and proper Spanish restaurants. The drive along the coast road is gorgeous.

June Events in Benidorm 2026
Keep an eye out for Hogueras de San Juan on the night of 23–24 June — the Valencian midsummer celebration where bonfires are lit on beaches across the region. Benidorm goes big on this. There'll be fireworks over the sea, music, and that particular Spanish magic that happens when an entire town decides to celebrate together on a beach at midnight.
It's one of those nights you genuinely can't plan for — you just have to be there.
