Best Beach Bars & Beach Clubs in Benidorm: Where to Eat, Drink & Chill by the Sea (2026)

Home›Blog›Best Beach Bars & Beach Clubs in Benidorm: Where to Eat, Drink & Chill by the Sea (2026)

Let me be honest with you. Most articles about Benidorm beach bars are written by people who've never set foot on Playa de Levante with a cold Estrella Damm in hand at 1pm on a Tuesday. I have — many, many times over the past decade. And the difference between a forgettable afternoon and a perfect one almost always comes down to where you plant yourself.

Benidorm's two main beaches — Levante and Poniente — stretch for over 5 kilometres combined, and the eating and drinking options along them range from outstanding to catastrophically overpriced. This is my honest, local guide to the best beach bars, chiringuitos and beach clubs in Benidorm in 2026, so you spend less time regretting your sunbed choice and more time actually enjoying it.

Playa de Levante: The Buzzing East Beach

Levante is Benidorm's showstopper — the one with the iconic skyline backdrop and the seemingly endless curve of golden sand. In June the water is already a gorgeous 22–24°C and the beach fills up steadily from about 10am. Here's where I'd point any first-timer.

Restaurante El Puerto sits near the northern end of Levante, practically spilling onto the sand, and has been a reliable local favourite for years. Order the paella de marisco — it serves two and takes 25 minutes, but it's worth every second. Skip the tourist menu and go straight for the daily specials chalked on the board outside.

Chiringuito La Cala, halfway down the beach, is the spot I end up at most often with visiting friends. Plastic chairs, zero pretension, ice-cold clara (beer with lemon, trust me in this heat), and bocadillos that cost what a beach sandwich should cost. Don't expect table service — you queue, you order, you grab your food, and you love it.

Azul Beach Club is Levante's most polished option — sunbed reservations, cocktail menu, and a DJ set that kicks in around 2pm on weekends. It's a step up in price but the cava sangría is genuinely excellent and the vibe is properly Mediterranean rather than hen-party-central. Book a sunbed online in advance for weekends in June — they sell out by 11am.

Playa de Poniente: The Quieter, Local Side

Poniente is Benidorm's western beach and — controversial opinion incoming — it's actually the better beach for a relaxed day out. The crowds are thinner, the sand is just as beautiful, and the beach bars here feel more genuinely Spanish.

Restaurante Voramar has been here since I arrived in the area over a decade ago, and the reason it's survived while others come and go is simple: honest food at honest prices. The grilled dorada (sea bream) here is one of my regular summer lunches. Sit outside, order a vino blanco from Alicante, and watch the parasailors drift past. Perfect.

Chiringuito Poniente, right on the sand near the western end, is ideal for families — there's space, shade, and the kitchen turns out decent bocadillos de jamón and fresh-squeezed orange juice without fuss. June mornings here are genuinely lovely before it gets too hot.

La Siesta Beach Bar is newer on the Poniente scene and worth knowing about. Owned by a young local couple, it does a short menu done well: gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas, cold cuts, and a surprisingly well-stocked wine list. The view of the Sierra Helada headland from the terrace is exactly the kind of thing you want to be staring at while eating lunch in Spain.

Rincon de Loix: The Locals' Northern Strip

If you want to feel like you've escaped the tourist bubble entirely, head to the Rincon de Loix area at the northern end of Levante beach. The bars here cater more to Spanish residents and long-term expats, prices drop noticeably, and the seafood is fresh from the nearby fish market at La Vila Joiosa.

Bar El Rincón is standing-room only on Friday lunchtimes — that's always a good sign. Order the fried fish platter (fritura de pescado) and a cold beer and you'll wonder why you ever bothered with the tourist-facing spots.

Practical Tips for Benidorm Beach Bars in June

Timing matters. June is busy but not August-insane. Arrive at a chiringuito before 1:30pm for lunch or you'll be waiting. Most stop taking food orders around 3:30–4pm.

Cash is still king at many chiringuitos, though most beach clubs now take cards. Carry €20–30 in cash just in case.

Sunbed etiquette: Don't put a towel on a sunbed before 9am and disappear for two hours. People will — and should — move it.

Sun protection: June sun in Benidorm is stronger than most Northern Europeans expect. The UV index regularly hits 8–9 by 11am. Factor 50, hats, and rehydration aren't optional.

Budget guide: A chiringuito lunch (beer, main, bread) runs €12–18 per person. A beach club afternoon with sunbed, cocktails and food will set you back €40–60 per person. Plan accordingly.

Stay Close to the Beach — Book Direct and Save

The smartest move for a Benidorm beach holiday? Stay within walking distance of the sand and book your apartment direct. Our holiday rentals in Benidorm include apartments steps from both Levante and Poniente — no shuttle buses, no taxi bills, just walk out the door with your beach bag.

Booking direct with JV Properties saves you up to 18% compared to Airbnb or Booking.com — that's a significant chunk of a beach club afternoon right there. Browse our Benidorm properties and see what's available for your dates.

Benidorm's beach bar scene in June is, in my experience, one of the best things about the Costa Blanca. The sun is strong, the sea is warm enough, the crowds haven't yet hit peak-August madness, and a cold beer on the sand costs about what it should. Get out there.
