For tapas, the strip around Plaça de la Generalitat Valenciana comes alive in the early evening. Bar Tapería Sol i Mar does a rotating selection of pintxos and small plates from about 6pm — the patatas bravas with a proper spicy brava sauce and the croquetas de jamón are the ones to order. A round of tapas and a couple of cold beers for two comes to around €20.
Dinner: The Best Evening Restaurants in Albir
Albir's restaurant scene really shines at dinner, especially in June when the evenings are warm enough to sit outside until midnight. Restaurante La Masia is probably the most celebrated dinner option in town — it occupies a beautifully restored old farmhouse building just back from the main strip and does modern Mediterranean cuisine with serious local ingredients. The duck breast with orange and fig is exceptional. Main courses run €18–26, and it's worth booking.
For something more relaxed but still very good, El Faro de Albir (near the lighthouse path entrance) has a terrace that catches the evening breeze off the sea and serves honest, well-cooked Mediterranean food. The grilled octopus starter and the monkfish in saffron sauce are regularly on the menu and both are excellent.
Chiringuitos: Beach Eating Done Right
In June, the chiringuitos along Albir beach are open and the combination of cold drinks, simple food, and your feet in the sand is hard to beat.
